Pont d’Arc arch

The world famous Pont d’Arc natural bridge is a sight not to be missed! Situated 3km from the town of Vallon-Pont-d’Arc, and 7km from the Domaine de Sévenier, this unique natural feature is benefitting from a five-year major improvement project from 2015–2020, which will allow more visitors to experience the site in all its natural tranquillity.

Gorges de l'Ardèche

The gorges of the Ardèche river form a spectacular 32km long canyon. The perfect way to experience the gorges is of course on the water! Rent a kayak and go on a day-long adventure at your own pace, paddling from discovery to discovery.

Or if canoeing is not for you, why not take the tourist road high above the gorges? Running from Vallon-Pont-d’Arc to Saint-Martin-d’Ardèche, this is a favourite route not least for motorcyclist and cyclists, offering numerous breath-taking panoramic views.

Ibie valley

More intimate than the majestic Ardèche, the lovely river Ibie flows through a protected, quiet and verdant valley. Often underground, the river only emerges above ground in rare spots to form ideal swimming holes, or the perfect locations for waterside picnics.

Défilés de Ruoms

If you’re heading towards Largentière be sure to opt for the route known as the “Défilés de Ruoms”. This small road is cut dramatically into the cliff face and offers wonderful views.

Cirque de Gens

Well known to climbers, this stunning cliff is well worth a visit, whether it’s for a hike, a picnic by the water’s edge, a climbing expedition, swimming with the family, or simply passing through the delightful nearby village of Chauzon. Not to be missed!

Rocher de Sampzon

Visible throughout the valley, this immense rock outcrop offers wonderful views across the surrounding area of Vallon-Pont-d’Arc and the Ardèche gorges.

Montagne ardéchoise

Having explored the garrigue countryside around the Domaine de Sévenier, take the opportunity to discover the “other” Ardèche! A few kilometres from the site rises the magnificent plateau of the Montagne ardéchoise – a wholly different landscape, where cows graze, the chestnut tree is king and one can enjoy the freshness of mountain air.
